Bent light

I

In this betwixt of moments

I surge forward to drink

from the wayfarer a cup of tea

who having gauged me

asked whither was I heading to?

To the oblivion of cops

sitting and sipping old days

nonetheless I paid him

a green note of love

and he promised me the love

of God is for me to taste

I drank from the cup

and felt the taste lingering

on till I saw Rajesh Khanna-

an erstwhile now dead Bollywood star

I ask what life has been?

A penchant for love and

girlfriend to the stars denied

transfixed I sat bemoaning

the words as I sputter on

laptop- the soul of a dying woman

having married the love of her life

she had one regret! That life ends

not with a whimper but a bang.

II

The monk having said everything

cried I am dead at last and in the afterlife

of stars married on to stars to breed

more of starry nights on the earth.

The dead woman crying all of sudden

and the wayfarer returning to sing

the song of forsaken diamond that

what life was- a trivial brute on the loot

to loot all the diamonds the curse

of love upon the earth bestowed

A paranormal romance having died

they met again in the mutliverse

where life is cheap but a diamond  ring

is for the abyssian maid who having

lived her days spent the summer

gauging winter and recalling

on the days’end- the lume spento

the bent light.
