Friendship Day

Put on where the shadow is

the glass of whiskey on the sill

And pour yourself more

a drink in libation of our

friendship foretold

I shall oblige you

And you don’t deny the whimper

there goes ice in the glass

yielding  fire and nothing

you more hold

but your own destiny

In tasting the sweet pot

of wine and honey

melded to tell

the story of you and me

on this friendship day

that we pell-mell

like ice in whiskey  jar bell
